I started my education as a Fine Art major in college but graduated with a degree in Horticulture
I have worked in Horticulture and Art but my longest experience has been in the Arts.
I was co-owner of Boyer Glassworks Studio and Gallery in Harbor Springs, Michigan from 1984-2013.
Since 1992, I have concentrated on Painting as my primary focus. Oil is my favorite medium, though I often use Watercolor and have experimented recently in MIxed Media and Sculpture.
Many people have acquired my work in glass and painting over the years. I have also participated in a number of group shows.
I grew up in Toledo, Ohio and spent a good deal of time at The Toledo Museum of Art. I have been heavily influenced by their collection of Renaissance and Impressionistic Art. It is reflected in my paintings and my art glass designs.
I love the texture of oil paint and I use it heavily when I can. The natural world in Northern Michigan and my own garden are often the subjects of my paintings. I paint what I know; family, dogs, still life, water, snow, trees and flowers.
Over the years I have signed my glass and paintings: KHBoyer, KHrabakBoyer and now, KHrabak.
